may bago akong craze. actually, dalawa sila.

masaya pala mag-discover ng mga kantang magaganda sa imeem. isama na natin na masayang manghula ng lyrics ng mga kantang naririnig sa tv sabay hahanapin kung anu yung mga kantang yun. this caused my to chance upon two artists. my two current crazes. they are none other than INGRID MICHAELSON and CORRINNE MAY.

ingrid is caucasian, a redhead with glasses. her voice is jazzy. una ko siya narinig sa etc nung february. her song "the way i am' (which you can find sa homepage ko dito) struck me as cute kasi ang naririnig lang initially ay bass guitar and claps. then she sings with her matured kiddy voice (naiimagine niyo ba?). then the song speaks like a female version of the popular adam sandler song "grow old with you". love it. imeem led me to her songs "keep believing" and "corner of your heart". ahhhhh.

i first heard of corrinne from a friend (si dang ata or someone else) who recommended her song "on the side of me". being the limewire girl i used to be, i tried looking for the song there. kaso hindi mahanap. i'd forgotten about the song for a few months until around may or june of this year, may narinig akong song na may lyrics na " everyone needs a friend to hold when it's cold outside..." chorba chorba chorba. turns out that was the song. her voice is soothing, almost hypnotic. similar to amy lee of evanescence, to sarah groves, and to sarah mclachlan. pambihira. hypnotic kung hypnotic. corrinne is asian, writer, pianist, singer. catholic. she sings inspirational songs and Word-infused songs. may song pa nga siya tungkol dun sa boy who paved the way to feed the 5,000. ahhhhh...

ekis ka

writing a song is not as easy as it seems. sure, we listen to a lot of music on thhe radio, on tv, on the net, on our phones, ipods or whatever. we hear the groove-able melodies of different artists, we dance (or attempt to, in my case) to the music the harmony of keyboard, drums, strings, and vocals (and some other instruments sometimes). we listen to the lyrics and use them as friendster shout outs or as blog titles (as i am fond of doing). although singing and/or playing those songs with ease, effortlessly, perfectly and flawlessly is quite difficult, imagine the terrors of picking up pen and paper, thinking of words fitting for the melody and beat, cutting syllables and finding the right words to fit the emotion, choosing the right melody and picking proper chords or notes.

i would cry right now if i didn't love writing.

i'm not bragging (but this statement makes me appear like i am), but i've loved to write since i was a kid. even my elementary school teachers thought i could do well writing. but that wasn't something i wanted to make a career of. i'm a moody writer. i write when inspiration strikes. i write when i feel like it. i write when i the thoughts overflow. i can't write when there is nothing i can write about. although that COULD make me rich, that was not something i imagined doing. being your own boss both thrills and sucks at the same time. so i ended up following the wonderful path towards being a doctor.

then why on earth am i writing about writing?

simple. you know sarah bareilles' song "love song"? well, i'm not writing him a love song. neither did he ask me for one or tell me it's make or breaking this or to ask him to stay. nah. that's not me. i'm writing a song not for him but for HIM. the only Him i want to make music for. the only Him i want to know how excellent a writer i can be. the only Him who knows me well enough to know how true and deep my words will be, how heart-wrenching the melody is.

now if only the words would overflow now as much as i would like them. then i would shut up for you and cry out to Him.

after a long time ngayon ko lang naexperience ulit ngumalngal ng hindi nalalaman kung anung gagawin. kahit nakaiyak na naman ako two weeks ago e at least yun alam ko gagawin ko. isa akong bading. iyakin kasi ako. napaka. mabuti din lang kung yung tahimik na iyak na hindi yaki. e kumusta naman ako. uhog galore!
