buti nalang ang crush ay hindi kasing undefinable ng distant relative niyang si "love". ang crush kasi pwede mong hanapan ng synonym na synonym talaga: paghanga. e ang love? ano bang synonym niya? ang makapagbigay ng synonym na pinakasakto ay magkakamit ng... (get ready)... MASIGABONG PALAKPAKAN!

hindi din kasing permanente ni love si crush. at hindi kasing loyal. kasi pwede kang magkaron ng 1,766 na crush at one given moment pero yung totoong romantic love e isa lang (diumano) at any given time. ang taray no?

pero ang maganda kay crush ay na very versatile siyang gamitin. pwede kang magkacrush dahil mabait. o kaya dahil nakakatawa. or dahil gwapo. or mabango. or dahil matalino. or dahil basta. yung tipong natuwa ka lang. crush mo na. yehey.

figure it out

last thursday my dad brought me to his doctor-friend at the Philippine General Hospital. Dr Josef gave me some tips on how to go about the interview come monday (which is tomorrow, by the way). Keep answers concise. Answer from the heart. Take your time to think. Don't answer things you are not sure of. State your opinions. Etc, etc.

He asked me when i thought about going into medicine. And i said it was in my third year of high school, when the CSI fever came over me. And he said (in between lines) that that wouldn't be a good enough answer. So i thought about the question while we were on the way home.

Why would i want to be a doctor? Why would i want to waste about 10 more years of life studying and studying to get into a profession that would give me little money if i were to rely on it as the sole source of my income? Why would i want to risk life and limb to meet, talk to, diagnose, and try to cure people i hardly knew?

I prayed about this. I prayed and asked the Lord what my best answer would be. And He gave it to me. The God of wonders gave it to me just like that.

I wanted to become a doctor because I loved HIM.

In the story in John 21:15-17, Jesus commands Peter to show Him his love by feeding and caring for His lambs and sheep. Hence, the Lord also commands us to do the same if we want to show our love for Him.

The cliche answer "I want to be a doctor to serve humanity" is only a secondary reason. The primary reason behind my wanting to be a doctor is because I want to show God that I love Him by caring for Hhis sheep and lambs.

It was very fitting that Tita Mely asked this question during her servant today: ARE YOU BEING A CHRISTIAN IN YOUR WORKPLACE?

I would like to be a Christian in my workplace. I still have to work on it. There are lots of rough spots that God wants to smoothen. There are still some impurities that need to be cleaned off. There is still a lot of work to be done. And I trust that God will do it. In His time.

I am grateful that I have been given the opportunity to try out for this medical school. I am sad that some of my friends didn't get in, but I know that God has a plan for each of us.

Jeremiah 29:11. "For I know the plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for."

Let's pray for all of us who will be going through the interview process. I give special mention to my friends Mia Carandang, Pot Torres, Zane Nelson, Rico Flosa, Sarah Tagum, Babe Tagomata, David Diciano, Anne Barraquio, TJ Uy, Ramon Mata, Anna Robles and Raymond Lozada. Apologies to those I forgot to name. That is exactly what happened, i forgot to name you.

To my zooperwild friends, I pray for our futures. I know in my heart that God has greatness in store for us.

- marami! kumatay ng isda, naglinis at nakabasag ng fish tank, nagpunta sa palaisdaan, nagsabi ng mga bagay na hindi talaga dapat sinasabi, etc.

i love joy williams. maraming beses ko na yun sinabi before. pero i was quit struck by one of her songs. ang title ay "i'm in love with you" and it's a song she wrote for her husband of almost five years. sabi ni joy williams, ang bawat isang line daw sa kantang yun ay galing sa diary niya. pinakikinggan ko kanina and i found it to be very very VERY sweet. i long for the day na makantahan ko ang lalakeng ibibigay sakin ni Lord ng ganitong kanta :)

natuklasan namin na may art exhibit sa sining makiling gallery by artist emmanuel garibay (tama ba?). naalala naman ni kuya soc na may kakilala silang artist na anak ng isang pastor garibay na binigyan ang tatay nila ng painting dati. so pumunta kami and, small world, it was the same artist.

emmanuel garibay. ganda. "reunion" ang title nung exhibit. may seminar nga pala siya. feb18, sa sining makiling art gallery din. 3pm. punta kayo. galing talaga :)

also got to meet dr. perry ong at the art exhibit. he was funny :) wala kaming picture ni dr ong. sayang.

Becoming Jane

Maybe I'm just a fan of period movies, biopics, Anne Hathaway, and unusually handsome men. Or maybe the movie really is good.

"Becoming Jane" is a movie about the life of Jane Austen and how her own journe through life influenced the books she wrote.

The movie site says:
"Jane Austen lit up the world with her words, wit, and wisdom. But her life was too stoked by passion and romance. At the age of tweny she met and fell in love with Tom Lefroy and their relationship sparks a tale as real and romantic as her greatest work."

Jane Austen was born poor in 18th century England and she discovered her knack for writing early on in her life. As in the early society, young ladies would be presented before society and theywould be "up for grabs" for any rich man who would desire. Jane was one fof those young women, but she was one who believed in marrying for love and not money.

Tom Lefroy was a young man from a poor family. He was living in Ireland with his uncle (who was a judge) to train as a lawyer. He met and fell in love with Jane when he went to England with he brother. They were a perfect match, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. However, it was not a match made in heaven because he was poor, she was poor, and they needed money to live.

Perhaps one of the movie's most memorable lines came from Jane Austen's mother:
"Affection is desirable. Money is absolutely indispensable."
How very, very true. In the end, Lefroy and Jane didn't end up together because Jane found out that Lefroy was still supporting his parents and his siblings. Although she loved him immensely, even getting to a point when she was willing to elope with him, she realized it would be very selfish of her to "steal" Lefroy from his family. So Jane ends up never marrying.

I'm a romantic, and this movie quite satisfied my appetite for romance. The chemistry between Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy was undeniable, and the entire movie showcased a side of Anne that we are used to seeing but, at the same time, have never seen before. If you loved her in the Princess Diaries, Ella Enchanted, and The Devil Wears Prada, this is another movie to love her in. Anne Hathaway captured convincingly the independence of heart and mind Jane Austen (i suppose) wanted to show.

If you remember James McAvoy from "Wanted", this movie shows him in a different light as Tom Lefroy. Far from the idealistic young man who was out killing people just because it seemed that they were required to die, the character of Tom Lefroy as the young lawyer trying to work his way up in society who falls in love with Jane Austen was one of the reasons why the movie was so real and so very romantic.

or maybe it was all just because James McAvoy looked so hot in the Englishman attire he wore for the most part of the movie. and because the way he would look at Jane would make you wish those ice blue eyes were staring at you instead.
